Flow Blue China by Nancy M.

Flow blue china originated in England in the 1820’s. Various potters were trying to imitate expensive Chinese pieces but were initially unable to reproduce the beautiful blue colors. So they experimented with various pigments and chemicals in their kilns which unintentionally created a blurred or “flown” blue design. The potters perfected the process and these rich cobalt blue colors became very popular at the time. Pieces remain highly sought after by collectors to this day.

Piece shown is circa 1895

ABOUT THE MARKET:

DONATIONS: We accept donations at the store during store hours.

OFFERS: We accept offers on individual items that are $50 and over. The cashier will call the vendor and ask if they will accept your offer. This could take up to 24 hours.

SELLING TO VENDORS: The public is welcome to stop by with pictures of items they are selling along with their asking price. Or, you can stop by and show vendors your items from your vehicle. Please don't bring them into the store. Please have your asking price ready and be able to make change.

SIDEWALK SALES: The public can join our monthly sidewalk sales for $20. We allow one six foot table on the sidewalk per person. You will need to have your own change and must take leftover items with you or you can donate them to the store.

BECOMING A VENDOR: We have a waitlist and do have existing vendors jury the products. We strive to have a wide variety of items in the store and try not to duplicate items. Please stop at our cashier's desk and ask for the form if you would like to get on our waiting list.
